ZANESVILLE, OH Mary Ellen Siddel, 88, of Zanesville, formerly of East Liverpool, died suddenly Monday, September 17, 2012 at her home.
Born in Wellsville, Ohio, January 16, 1924, she was a daughter of the late John and Maggie Echols Garey. While residing in East Liverpool she was a member of the First Christian Church. Following her move to Zanesville in 1970, she became a member of the First Christian Church in Zanesville.
She worked as a railroad crossing guard during WWII and later did clothing alterations work for many years.
Her husband, Frank J. Siddel, died in 1992. She was also preceded in death by a daughter Margie Lee Siddel Kerr, two sisters, Helen Todd and Gladys Nicholson, as well as three brothers, John, Phillip and Kenneth Garey.
She is survived by a daughter, Marianne Ford, and her husband Randy, of Florida, a sister Thelma Schmidt of Columbiana, 4 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren along her favorite niece, Mary Catherine Skinner, and her husband J.R., of Lisbon.
Rev. Rob Rowe will conduct a funeral service at 2:30 p.m. Saturday at the Dawson Funeral Home. Friends may visit 2 hours prior to the service.
Burial will be at Columbiana County Memorial Park.
Following the service, family and friends will gather at the Dawson Family Center for fellowship.
