Two people were seriously injured in a motorcycle crash Sunday afternoon on state Route 558 just east of East Fairfield. William Harrison, 41, of Salem and his passenger, Cynthia Crawford, 35, of Salem, were flown to St. Elizabeth's in Youngstown where they were listed in stable condition Sunday night. The motorcycle was westbound where Route 558 bends to the left on a fairly steep downhill grade. The motorcycle went off the right side of the road, into the ditch and, when the ditch ended, the bike hit the culvert and flipped. Both people were thrown into the field next to the road. The highway patrol responded along with New Waterford firefighters and EMS.
