VOLLEYBALL

Southern Local 3, Sebring 1

SEBRING - The Indians cruised past the Trojans on Tuesday in straight sets to improve to 3-3 on the season.

Southern Local won by scores of 25-16, 25-7, 26-24.

Brandi Hunt finished with nine kills, one block, four points for the Indians, while Kati Hipsley added eight kills, three digs and 22 points.

Hannah Brothers had 59 sets, 11 assists and five points, and Abbey Smalley had six kills and four aces.

In junior varsity action, Southern Local won, 25-10, 28-26.

Braxton Exline finished with three kills, one dig and five points, while Casey Howdershelt added four kills, four aces, three digs and five points.

Kenzie Mosti had 37 sets, two assists and 11 points.

Southern Local will play at Toronto today.

GOLF

Wellsville 193, American Spirit Academy 226

GLENMOOR - The Tigers got past the Warriors at Cedar Hills Golf Course by a score of 193-226.

For Wellsville, Nick Bayer led with a 43, followed by Geoge Anderson (45), Travis Childers (49) and Justin Cameron (56).

For American Spirit Academy, Matt Brophey led with a 50, followed by Lane Lopata (52), Andrew Montgomery (58) and Noah Timms (66).

BOYS SOCCER

American Spirit Academy 6, First Baptist 2

LISBON - The Warriors were working on all cylinders on Tuesday with a 6-2 win over First Baptist at the Beaver Creek soccer fields.

Joe Langdon led the way for the American Spirit Academy (1-1) with three goals.

Josh Blakeley finished with one goal and one assist.

Spencer Connoer and Robert Buck both had one goal, while T.J. Martin and Will Martin each added one assist.

Will Martin also had 25 saves in goal.

The Warriors will play at Portersville Christian on Sept. 11.

Steubenville Catholic 4, Oak Glen 3

NEW MANCHESTER - The Crusaders clipped the Bears.

Steubenville Catholic Central came to New Manchester on Tuesday and left with a 4-3 win.

The Crusaders were paced by Leo Herrmann who netted three goals.

For Oak Glen, Devin Polen scored two goals, while Addison Sayre netted the other.

In goal for the Bears was Nick Fryer with 12 saves.

Oak Glen will return to acion on Thursday at St. Clairsville.

JUNIOR HIGH V-BALL

East Liverpool-Oak Glen

EAST LIVERPOOL - The East Liverpool 8th grade volleyball team defeated Oak Glen on Tuesday, 25-20, 25-20.

Katelyn Sandreth had 14 points to lead the Potters, while Lauren Cunningham had 11.

For Oak Glen, Maisie Witherow led with 11 points.

In 7th grade action, Oak Glen won, 25-22, 25-17.

Kinsey Beaver led the Bears with 13 points, followed by Alexis Swan with nine.

For the Potters, Kiandria Cowart led with 12 points, followed by Aeriden Brown with nine.
