Salem 217, Louisville 231

LOUISVILLE - The Salem girls golf team picked up another win Tuesday over Louisville 217-231 at Skyland Pines golf course.

Leading Salem was Niki Slaven and Allison Oshnock with 53s. Courtney Halter shot 54 and Hannah Rohrabaugh 57.

Katie Warga led Louisville with a 53.

South Range 173, Springfield 220

BOARDMAN - South Range dropped Springfield Wednesday at Mill Creek 173-220.

Leading the Raiders was medalist B.J. Schmitt with a 41. BrittanY Schneider shot 42, Brooks Thomas 43 and Logan Zarnick 47.

Nick Deemer led the Tigers with a 45.

South Range (4-4, 4-4 ITCL Tier 1) plays Thursday at United.

Mineral Ridge 167, United 168

HANOVERTON - United just missed knocking off unbeaten Mineral Ridge in golf action at Eagle Pass Wednesday losing by a shot 167-168.

For Ridge, Josh Durig was medalist with a 37. Pierce Rassenga shot 41, Brandon Bukochan 43 and Collin Cameron 46.

For United, Bradley Miller posted 39, Kasen Smith 40, Hayden Wilson 41 and Mason Sanders 48.

United (5-6, 4-4 ITCL Tier 1) hosts South Range today.

Mineral Ridge (8-0, 7-0 ITCL Tier 1) plays at East Palestine.

Columbiana 164, Leetonia 168

COLUMBIANA - Columbiana edged Leetonia 164-168 in ITCL golf action Wednesday at Valley Golf Course.

For the Clippers, Nathan Garofalo shot 40, Kyle Bryan 41, Joe Lucci 41 and Bruce Wiggins and Clayton Cooper shot 42s.

For Leetonia, Luke Janci earned medalist honors with a 38, Josh Faulkner posted 39, Ian Stecker 45 and Corey Valentine 46.

Leetonia (6-3) plays today at Sebring Country Club.

Jackson-Milton 179, Crestview 198

COLUMBIANA - Jackson-Milton beat Crestview 179-198 Wednesday at Copeland Hills. Chad Hammonds earned medalist honors for the Bluejays with a 43.

For Crestview, Tom Siembida and Enzo Lucci shot 48s. Wyatt Nolker posted 50, and Craig Landsberge 52.

Girls Soccer

South Range 3, Crestview 2

CANFIELD - South Range edged Crestview 3-2 Wednesday in girls soccer action. Morgan Coler scored two goals for the Lady Raiders both assisted by her sister Rachel Coler, who also tallied a goal.

For Crestview, Morgan Nery and Maura Belding both scored goals.

Cat Schuler had eight stops for the Lady Raiders.

West Branch 4, Carrollton 1

CARROLLTON - West Branch defeated Carrollton 4-1 Wednesday in girls soccer. Toni Dickinson had two goals for the Lady Warriors. Haley Davis and Melinda Trimmer added a goal each. Trimmer finished the night with three assists.

Laruen Martig had six saves in goal.

West Branch (1-2) hosts Boardman Saturday night.

Boys Soccer

South Range 3, Crestview 2

COLUMBIANA - South Range edged Crestview 3-2 in an ITCL tilt Wednesday.

Patrick McCarthy had two penalty kick goals and Cole Frank added the third.

Tony Marr and Greg Bable scored for the Rebels.

Volleyball

Western Reserve

drops YC

BERLIN CENTER - Western Reserve beat Youngstown Christian in volleyball action earlier this week 25-19, 25-11, 25-6.

Rachel Maslach had 14 kills. Alexis Miller had nine points and Jenny Stubbs added 12 points.

Junior High Volleyball

Salem vs. Minerva

MINERVA - Salem seventh grade volleyball fell to Minerva 25-21, 25-22.

Leading Salem was Paige Butcher with 10 points and two aces. Alyssa Laubacher added six points. Morgan Murphy tallied three points, and Alle Davidson-Chuck had a point and a spike.

Salem (0-2) hosts Alliance at 5 p.m. Tuesday.

Salem vs. Louisville

SALEM - The Salem grade volleyball team fell to Louisville 25-4, 25-13 earlier this week. Leading Salem was Alle Davidson-Chuck with two points and a spike. Laci Ewing had two points and an ace. Paige Butcher, Alyssa Laubacher and Haile Weir all had a point.

Lisbon vs. Leetonia

LEETONIA - Lisbon dropped Leetonia in both seventh and eighth grade volleyball action Wednesday. The eighth grade won in two 25-15, 25-17 with Braeden Weyand scoring eight points for the Lady Devils. Kayla Jones and Tori Newman had five each for the Lady Bears.

The Lisbon seventh grade won 18-25, 25-18, 25-15. Kimberlee Wiggens had 23 points for Lisbon; Haley Peterson Ward had 15 for Leetonia.
