SALEM - George and Theresa Morris, Salem, recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with family and friends at the Salem Community Center. Guests from California, Virginia, Washington, North Carolina, South Carolina, Pennsylvania, and Ohio were in attendance.
Prior to the celebration, the couple spent three days at a Pennsylvania Woodlands Resort with their family.
The former Theresa C. Chick married George W. Morris Jr., on Aug. 4, 1962 at Our Lady of Lourdes Church, East Palestine. The Reverend Monsignor Joseph M. Heid presided at the ceremony, which was also the anniversary date of Mr. Morris' parents, George and Esther Morris.

Both graduates of East Palestine High School, they are members of St. Paul Catholic Church in Salem. They are active in the Pro-Life and Family Ministry, The Banquet of Salem, and the American Heart Association Board.
They have three children, George (Coby) Morris III, Salem; Doug (Moon) Morris, Lynnwood, Wash.; and Denise (Bob) Grimm, Mt. Pleasant, S.C.; and six grandchildren.
