ROCHESTER TOWNSHIP, Pa. - Robert Ellsworth Kelly, 87, of Rochester Township, passed away Friday, August 10, 2012 at his son Robert's residence under the compassionate care of VITAS Hospice. He was born May 28, 1925 in Darlington Township, son of the late Herbert and Elizabeth (Vaughn) Kelly. Bob proudly served his country with the U.S. Navy during WWII.

He retired from American Bridge after 40 years of service. Bob also worked for a time at Mayer China, Beaver Falls and will be remembered as a Crossing Guard for the Rochester Area School District. He was a member of the Rochester South Side (Noss Plan) Volunteer Fire Department for 45 years and Grace Lutheran Church.

In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by his wife of 46 years: Helen Mae (McConnell) Kelly on August 9, 1994; his brother: William Kelly; and brother-in-law: Charles Miller.

Bob is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law: Robert and Shirley Kelly, Raccoon Township; Harry and Carol Kelly, Rochester; five grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren; his brother and sister-in-law: Herbert "Dutch" and Patricia Kelly, Negley, OH; his sister: Elizabeth "Betty" Miller, East Palestine, OH and other extended family members.

The family will receive friends Monday, August 13, 2012 from 1 to 5 p.m. in the SAUL-GABAUER FUNERAL HOME, INC., 273 Route 68, Rochester (adjacent to Sylvania Hills Memorial Park Mausoleum). Military Honors will be present at 5 p.m., immediately following the visitation, by members of the Beaver County Special Unit. A brief funeral service will follow with Pastor Greg Clagg, officiating. Private interment will be in the Garden of Lilies, Sylvania Hills Memorial Park.
