EAST LIVERPOOL - Harold F. Haynes, 99, formerly of Cain Street, died Wednesday afternoon, August 1, 2012 at Adkins Care Center.
Born in Wheeling, West Virginia on October 5, 1912, Harold was a son of the late Frank M. and Pearl McKenzie Haynes.
At the age of 15, he began working at Homer Laughlin China Co. and in 1935 became an apprentice jiggerman. He had also worked at Harkers and Hall China. He later retired from Sayre Electric after 23 years service.
Mr. Haynes was a veteran of WWII serving with the U.S. Army in Japan.
Harold was a faithful member of 1st Evangelical Presbyterian Church, a life member of Elks Lodge 258, a 32 Degree Mason, a Loyal Arch Mason of Ohio, a Knights Templer and the American Legion Post 374.
He was also a 1930 graduate of East Liverpool High School, a member of East Liverpool High School Alumni Association, The Olde Guard and Leadership Club.
Harold loved gardening and leather working and enjoyed worldwide travel with his loving wife of 54 years, Ruth Haynes, who preceded him in death on November 15, 1994.
Also preceding him in death were a sister, Ethel Vaughn and a nephew, William F. Fletcher.
Survivors include two beloved sisters, Helen Mizer of Cleveland and Wilma Fletcher of East Liverpool.
Funeral services are planned for 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Dawson Funeral Home with Rev. Tanta Luckhardt-Hendricks officiating. Friends may visit at the funeral home one hour prior to the services.

Burial will take place in Riverview Cemetery.
