What he learned at the game

I want to congratulate the Ohio All-Stars for their win over Pennsylvania in a well-run football game at Springfield High School.

Due to my recent foot surgery I had to attend the game in a wheelchair. When I arrived at Springfield's new stadium my girlfriend wheeled me up the handicapped ramp to the wheelchair section. There was adequate room for my wheelchair, but no seats for anyone who accompanied me to the game.

I was disappointed that my friend would have to sit by herself in the regular stadium seating and that I would be alone in the wheelchair section. By my count I saw three or four people in wheelchairs that had to get out of their chairs and leave it in the aisle way blocking the path of incoming fans to the game.

What needs to be done is to add some regular seating in the wheelchair section for all the football fans. Springfield has a beautiful football facility and I'm sure they will find a solution to the problem.

My stay in a wheelchair is temporary, but it has really opened my eyes on what obstacles a handicapped person must overcome every day.
