LISBON - Judy Kay McGown, 69 of Glasgow Rd., Lisbon went home to be with the Lord on June 29, 2012 at her home in the presence of her loving family following a brief illness.
Judy was born to the late Nolan Arlist Stringer and Mabel Cline Stringer on November 10, 1942 in Parkersburg, WV.
A homemaker and Methodist by faith, Judy graduated from Parkersburg High School.
Judy was an expert gardener and she loved to read and collect beautiful things. Judy's competitive spirit could be seen when playing games with her family which she loved and adored.
Judy came from a very large family and she was preceded in death by several brothers and sisters.
Survivors include her husband Charles "Chuck" McGown whom she married on October 16, 1961, two sons, Bryan McGown and his wife Debbie of Akron, and Ricky McGown and his wife Lindsay of Salem, one daughter, Lisa Arkwright and her husband William of Lisbon, two brothers, David Stringer and his wife Lea of New York, NY; and Howard Paul Stringer of Parkersburg, one sister, Nina Chipps and her husband Jim of St. Mary's, WV; and six grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
A memorial visitation will be held on Saturday July 14, from 12:00 to 2:00 pm at the Arner Funeral Chapel in Chester where Pastor Ellen Krokenberger of Southern Care Hospice will conduct a memorial service at 2:00 pm.
