SALEM - Raymond Starbuck 94, of Salem, died Saturday, June 23, 2012 in the early evening hours at his home.

He was born on May 19, 1918 in Colerain, Ohio to the late Lewis and Myrtle (Fergson) Starbuck.

He was a 1936 graduate of Goshen High School, a 1981 retiree from the E. W. Bliss Company as a sheet metal worker. He enlisted in the US Navy during WW2 and served from 1944 to 46. He was a member of the Salem First Presbyterian Church and attended the Damascus Friends Church, a member of Salem UCT # 590, and was an avid Cleveland Indian Fan and the Ohio State Buckeyes. He enjoyed Golfing, bowling, and playing cards.

He is survived by his two loving and caring daughters, Patty (Husband Frank) Hieronymus - Hamilton of Salem and Eva (Husband Van) Thaxton of Akron, his two sisters, Sara Schaefer of Bowling Green, Ohio and Edith Berger of Beloit, his grandchildren that he truly enjoyed, Sherry Deckerd, Lee Thaxton, Terry Thaxton, and Holly Reimer, and eleven great grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death on June 2, 2010 by his wife the former Juanita J, Conrad, whom he married on September 21, 1937, his siblings, Margaret McConnell, Helen Moser, Harry Starbuck and Lena Althouse, and a grandson Mike Hieronimus.

A Celebration of Life service will be held on Friday, June 29, 2012, 11 AM at the Damascus Friends Church with the Rev. John Ryser officiating. The burial will follow in the Damascus Friends Cemetery. The Salem Honor Guard will hold a military service with honors in Damascus.

The Family will receive friends on Thursday from 6 to 8 PM at the Arbaugh-Pearce-Greenisen Funeral Home, Salem and one hour prior to the service at the church.
