EAST LIVERPOOL - Paul R. Cole, 66 of Beechwood Street, East Liverpool died at Life Line Hospital in Wintersville on Sunday, June 24, 2012 following a 4 month illness. He was born in East Liverpool on October 9, 1945 and was a son of the late Leo and Lillian (Heckathorne) Cole.

Living his entire life in this area, he retired from Homer Laughlin China after 20 years in June of 2010 where he worked as a dipper. He established and operated numerous Sal Mari Sub Shops in the area. He was a 1964 graduate of East Liverpool High School, a member of the American Legion Post 374 and the VFW Post 66, was an avid Steeler fan and loved the Oldies. From 1964 to 1968 Mr. Cole served with pride in the United States Navy serving on the USS Independence. He was protestant by faith.

His wife, Donna "Dee" (Casper) Cole survives him at home. They were married on July 21, 1973.

Also surviving him is his daughter: Shawna Spencer and her husband David of East Liverpool; his grandson: David Cole Spencer; two sisters: Sylvia Wolfe of Canfield, OH and Leota Rickerd of East Liverpool as well as his faithful companion, Rosie.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one daughter: Ashley Cole abd three brothers: Leo, Leonard and William Cole.

Services will be held at the Calcutta Chapel of the Martin MacLean Altmeyer Funeral Homes on Wednesday, June 27, 2012 at 11:00 AM with Pastor Larry Rose of the Northside Community Church officiating.

Burial will follow in Columbiana County Memorial Park where the Tri State Burial Group will accord military honors.

Following the services at the cemetery, family & friends will gather for food and fellowship at the Hospitality Center of the Martin MacLean Altmeyer Funeral Homes at 145 W. 5th Street in downtown East Liverpool.

The family will be present to receive friends at the funeral home in Calcutta on Tuesday, June 26, 2012 from 2-8PM
