ENON VALLEY, Pa. - Calvin Richard Fristik of Hilltop Drive passed away at 6:55 p.m. Wednesday, June 6 at the age of 80 at Beaver Valley Rehabilitation and Nursing Center, Beaver Falls, Pa.
He was born December 24, 1931 in Independence, Mo., a son of the late James and Virginia Lyday Fristik. He attended Darlington School and served in the U.S. Army. He retired from Babcock and Wilcox.
Calvin was married for 53 years to his recently deceased wife, Margie Lee Fristik, who passed three years prior. He was the father of three, a deceased daughter, Deborah Rose Fristik who died of pneumonia as an infant, a surviving daughter, Brenda Lee Brayshaw of East Palestine, Ohio; a son Richard Calvin Fristik, all of East Palestine, a sister, Dorothy Gorby, East Palestine, eight grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren.
Calvin died of natural causes after his health started to decline four months ago. He was cared for mostly by his daughter, Brenda Brayshaw and her boyfriend, George Scott Gilbert, Sr., also of East Palestine, whom he was very close with for many years. He will be greatly missed by all who survived and knew him, and especially for his cats, which he spent his days loving and caring for.
There will be no services held for Calvin due to his last wishes. He wanted to be remembered in life, not in death. Special thanks to all who helped during his last days: Donna Mineard, friends, family, doctors, nurses, etc.
Arrangements were with Oliver-Linsley Funeral home, East Palestine, Ohio.
