EAST LIVERPOOL - East Liverpool resident David M. Smith, 59, passed away at his home on Grandview Street on Sunday, June 3, 2012.
He was born here on March 29, 1953, a son of Marjorie Bailey Smith of Salineville and the late George Elmer Smith, Jr. and was a graduate of Southern Local High School Class of 1971.
A Protestant by faith, David was a U.S. Navy veteran. He had retired from the Boilermakers Union Local 154 in Pittsburgh.
Surviving him is his former wife, Teresa Steele Smith, of East Liverpool, and two daughters: Jennifer Smith of Pittsburgh and Tiffany Hamilton and her husband, Jeremy, of Salineville. There are five grandchildren as well: Abby Hamilton, Aiden Hamilton, Gavin Hohman, Jordan Shipton and Mason Shipton.
David also leaves behind four brothers: Robert Smith and his wife, Brenda, of Midland; Richard Smith and his wife, Lisa, of Wellsville; Jamie Smith of Salineville; and Jerry Smith and his wife, Lori, also of Salineville. There are two sisters: Susan Graubner of Kensington, and Linda Haught and her husband, Tom, of Lisbon. A special aunt, Ruth Zetz of East Liverpool, survives as well.
Friends may call at Dawson Funeral Home on Monday, where the family will be present from 10-11 a.m. The Boilermakers Union Ritual will be held at 10:45 a.m. at the funeral home.
Services will be held at the funeral home at 11 a.m. on Monday with officiating by Pastor Tom Schneidmiller and Tri-State Veterans Burial Group providing full military honors.
