LISBON - Gary W. Morris, 50, of North Market Street, passed away unexpectedly Sunday night at his home following an apparent heart attack.
Gary was born June 17, 1961 in Salem, Ohio, a son of the late Clyde E. Morris and Paula L. (Doll) Morris, with whom he lived.
A 1979 graduate of Lisbon David Anderson High School, Gary recently graduated from the New Castle School of Trades, and was beginning his career as a truck driver.
He was a member of the Lisbon Eagles Aerie 2216 and the Sunday Morning Golf League. Gary attended the Lisbon First United Methodist Church, loved spending time with his family and friends, and was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers and Cleveland Indians fan.
Gary also served twelve years in the U.S. Navy during peacetime as an Air Traffic Controller.
In addition to his mother, He is survived by his daughter, Amanda (Brad) Wilson of Old Towne, Alexandria, Virginia; son, Joshua Morris of Clinton, Iowa; sister, Peggy Fast of Washingtonville; brother, Greg (Lori) Morris of Sebring; nieces, Morgan (Chris) Kinser, Ryann Morris, and Kelsie Fast; nephew, Cody Fast; great nieces, Camryn, Leah, and Delaney.
Funeral services will be held at 2pm, Friday, June 8, 2012 at the Eells-Leggett-Stauffer Funeral Home with the Rev. Pamela Gable officiating. Burial will follow in East Carmel Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 1pm until the time of service Friday at the funeral home.
