What happened to United Local?
They had one of the best schools I had heard of or personally known. They had possibly the best football coach in Columbiana County ever with an 89.7 percent won lost record, and he did not make the wall of fame or is it the wall of shame.
In May of 2011, the board of education put a bond issue on the ballot for a one-time deal for a rebuild of the United School. When it failed they put it back on the November ballot where it was trounced.
They complain they have no money. I believe last year the board members and superintendent had a three nights lodging and the treasurer one night and a meal for all of them and a book for $3,257.81 in Columbus.
For those of you interested here is a partial list of money they have invested: $437,084, $401,683, $500,043, $500,000, $1,400,000, $99,000, $150,000, $550,000, and $401,683, with the total being $6,256,044.
