LISBON - Kathleen E. "Kathy" Strong, 71, of State Route 30, passed away peacefully at 11:13am, Tuesday, February 21, 2012 at her home following a lengthy illness.
Mrs. Strong was born September 14, 1940 in Austintown, Ohio, a daughter of Eleanor (May) Wilson and the late Benjamin Franklin Wilson, and had lived most of her life in the Lisbon area.
A 1958 graduate of Lisbon David Anderson High School, Kathy was a homemaker and member of the Lisbon Trinity Friends Church. She also was an avid hunter and outdoorswoman, and member of the National Turkey Federation.
In addition to her mother of Salem, Kathy is survived and will be dearly missed by her husband of nearly 53 years, Wayne D. Strong, whom she married, March 8, 1959; son, Brad (Kim) Strong of Lisbon; sister, Arlene Sinclair of Phoenix, Arizona; brothers, Wayne C. (Kathy Ann) Wilson of Columbiana, Rodney A. (Susan) Wilson of Salem, and Tod M. (Patti) Wilson of Kingsport, Tennessee; grandchildren, Dallas B. Strong and Zarah Strong; and several loving nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 2pm, Saturday, February 25, 2012 at the Lisbon Trinity Friends Church, 33937 State Route 30, with Pastor Richard Jones officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the services at the church.
The family also suggests that memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society or to the charity of the donor's choice.
