Still burning

February 17, 2012
Morning Journal News

Editor:

I'm writing concerning the letter from "Burned Up." I couldn't agree with her more. I feel like our rights are being taken away a little at a time. What will we be told we can't do next, let alone in our own homes?

I don't encourage smoking, but I do feel it's my right, and they want to take that away. What will be taken away from you tomorrow?

I also resent being made to feel like a criminal because I smoke. I think there are more important issues we should be concerned about. Like how society has allowed God to be taken out of things, and how we accept terrible violence on TV, filthy language, horrific suggestive movies, same sex marriages, just to name a few.

I remember when you couldn't even say the word "pregnant," let along show how it's done. Society has gone against just about everything our Lord and our country stood for. I think I'd rather be exposed to some secondhand smoke than to all this moral decay.
