Editor:
I was reading the police reports today and noticed that at 6:37 p.m. Tuesday, newly elected Salem councilman Clyde Brown slid on a snow-covered road and struck a parked car and no citation was issued.
The reason I'm writing is because a similar thing happened to me a few years ago and a car rear-ended me and I received a citation for excessive speed due to road conditions, and since the roads were snow-covered I was driving less than the posted 25 mph limit.
I was wondering why I got a citation and he didn't? Is it because he's on the city council and I'm just a taxpayer and voter? Fair is fair. No one should be above the law.
