Pipe dreams

November 22, 2011

Editor:

Dow Chemical has been playing with the idea of building the largest petro-chemical plant in the world right here in Ohio. The proposed facility would cost over $20 billion and create over 100,000 jobs. They have been aware of the natural gas reserves locked up in the Marcellus Shale Formation for years. However when Obama was elected president and appointed the radical leftist Lisa Jackson head of the federal EPA the officials at Dow saw the writing on the wall. They knew that to apply for permits would be a waste of time and money. They recently announced that they are building the plant in Saudi Arabia.

Canada wants to build a 36 inch pipeline from Calgary to Houston to pipe the oil recovered from the Tar Sands Project in Alberta to Texas refineries. This would be a $23 billion project employing 120,000 construction workers and put us on the road to energy independence. Obama will not approve the project because he doesn't want to upset the environmentalists.

These ideologues in Obama's administration including him who never did a day's work in their lives, were raised on government handouts, went to college on student loans and manipulated our political system to gain power do not have the slightest idea of what business is all about. They are ruining this country. It doesn't make sense that everybody is screaming for energy independence and the EPA is denying coal mining permits in Kentucky and West Virginia and forcing oil refineries to build offshore. Incidentally Canada has decided to run the pipeline westward to Vancouver and sell all the oil to China.
