50th for Hammondsville couple

HAMMONDSVILLE - Mr. and Mrs. Ronald W. Timmons, Hammondsville, celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary Sept. 10 at a surprise party hosted by their son and daughter-in-law, Ronald M. and Mina Timmons.

Mr. Timmons, the son of Clarence and Marie Timmons, and the former Nancy L. Deemer, daughter of George and Helen Deemer, were married Sept. 9, 1961 at Point Pleasant Methodist Church by the Rev. James E. Bird.

Mr. Timmons retired in 1993 from Weirton Steel, Weirton, W.Va.

Mrs. Timmons is a homemaker and a former school bus driver.

They are members of the Second Church of Christ of East Liverpool.

In addition to their son, they have a daughter, Sherri Auxier, and five grandchildren.

The surprise celebration was held at the First Church of the Nazarene in East Liverpool.
