Editor:

I would like to speak to the amazement of a resident who writes with concerns of litter in a recent letter.

I personally did not place those "sad signs" that were referred to, however, I felt the need to also voice my opinion.

See, the parent who placed the signs had a sudden family emergency last weekend and I am sure the signs were the least of her concerns at the particular time. I am happy to report everyone is well.

I, too, am a Southern Local resident and I drive the opposite direction to work so I was not aware they were still up and such a problem or I would have gladly picked them up for her.

So to the writer... no need for any further harsh judgments I picked them up tonight. I hope I recovered them all, it was dark.

In closing i would also like to say we also teach our family lessons - to lead by example and this is the message: Sometimes you cannot control the situations in life but it is the way you respond to them that defines who we are. Happy to help out.
