I am getting sick and tired of the ad against Senate Bill 5. Union paid firefighters say they won't be able to do their job if they can't tell their employer how many men to hire. My understanding of the bill is to have them pay 15 percent of their health insurance. Do people know that only about 10 percent of firemen are paid and have benefits?
My son is a volunteer firefighter who gets no pay or benefits yet he will rush into a fire and do the job that needs to be done. He is self-employed and pays his own health insurance, 100 percent.
The other thing I think SB5 does is that they can't strike. They shouldn't be able to strike, they are public employees for the health and safety of others. Also, nurses and teachers are saying they won't be able to do their jobs if they can't tell the hospitals how many nurses should be on the job or how many students should be in the classroom.
A recent survey, I just heard about, shows that larger classrooms do better than smaller ones. If they can't do their jobs they should be fired.
These are union scare tactics, just to scare you. Don't let the unions bully you. They are spending millions of dollars to do just that. Ohio is going broke. Should they have to spend millions to fight these lies?
Do your part to save our great state of Ohio, vote to save SB5.
