RIDGECREST, Calif. - Frederick "Jack" and Doris Lindsay, formerly of Columbiana, will celebrate their 70th anniversary on Sept. 24.
The former Doris Sarah Huff and Frederick Jackson Lindsay were both born in 1921 in Columbiana County and were married on Sept. 24, 1941.
The couple operated Jack's Lake Lodge, a fishing camp in Ontario, Canada, for 12 years alongside Mrs. Lindsay's sister and brother-in-law, Ralph and Dorothy Elliott. They moved to Southern California in 1971, settling in Ridgecrest in 1986.

Mr. Lindsay served in the Battle of the Bulge during World War II and worked at K-Mart in Ridgecrest.
Mrs. Lindsay previously worked at the Heritage Inn.
They have two children, Diane (Johnny) Golden, Ventura, Calif.; and Geoffrey (Michele) Lindsay, Ridgecrest, Calif. They also have numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren in California, Colorado and Ohio.
