We never cease to be amazed at the way safety forces in Columbiana County band together in times of crisis.
During the two-hour standoff in Salineville Thursday evening, the county sheriff's department, state highway patrol, the Salineville, Lisbon and Columbiana police departments, as well as the Highlandtown Volunteer Fire Department stood by and provided support until the situation was defused and the perpetrator was in custody.
And all of this was accomplished without injury to anyone. Take a bow, officers, for a job well done.
