Golden year for Salem couple

SALEM - John and Mary Ruth (Barcus) Stamp, Salem-Alliance Road, will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary with an open house from 1-4 p.m. May 15 at the Sevakeen Country Club. The reception is being hosted by their children and grandchildren.

The couple were married on May 13, 1961 at the Salem First Presbyterian Church.

Mr. Stamp is currently self-employed and is a member of the Winona Ruritans.

Mrs. Stamp retired from Home Savings & Loan, Youngstown. She is a 50-year member of Beta Sigma Phi sorority, Salem Book Club, Ladies Wednesday Bowling League and is the Salem Federation of Women's Club treasurer.

They are both members of the Salem First Friends Church and the Columbiana County Farm Bureau.

They have three children, J. Randall Stamp, Salem; Deneen (Mark) Gardner, Leetonia; Matthew (Tricia) Stamp, Powell; and six grandchildren.
