You cannot always blame the government.
Some people had a horrible night Monday. The snow struck, hard, and roads became impassable.
We have had impassable roads before, but this situation came up in a hurry.
No one was really prepared. Snow was predicted, but only a few inches, not nearly a foot. When snow falls that fast for that long, there's not much you can do.
It took road crews time to respond, and some people suffered. We sympathize with their plight. Can't go forward, can't go backward, can't go anywhere.
But you cannot blame local governments and their workers for being unable to clear the roads in 30 minutes. They did their best, it just took longer than some wanted.
For those stuck, it was a matter of bad timing and bad luck.
But not the government's fault.
