Ritchies celebrate golden year

LISBON - Mr. and Mrs. Gary E. Ritchie, Sr., North View Lane, celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on Nov. 21 with a Sunday brunch at The Links at Firestone Farms and a family dinner on Nov. 27 at Das Dutch Haus in Columbiana hosted by the couple's sons and friends.

The former Carol Nicholson, daughter of Charles and Florence Nicholson, became the bride of Gary E. Ritchie Sr., son of Elbert and Dora Ritchie, Columbiana, on Nov. 26, 1960, at St. Paul Catholic Church, Salem, with the Rev. William T. Witt officiating.

Mr. Ritchie retired from Family Recovery Center in Lisbon in 2007 after 20 years service as a counselor. He also worked at NRM for 17 years. He retired from the Ohio National Guard after 20 years of service.

Mrs. Ritchie retired from Family Recovery Center after eight years of employment as a group counselor. She also worked for 19 years at Hunt Valve Co. in Salem.

They attend Salem First Friends Church and are members of the Agape Sunday School class.

The couple has three sons, Gary E. Ritchie Jr., Salem; Blaine Ritchie, Culpeper, Va.; Christopher Ritchie, Sarasota, Fla., and eight grandchildren.
