By DEANNE JOHNSON Staff Writer

SALEM - The woman found dead off Egypt Road Monday morning has been identified at Ardes Bauman, 60, of Salem.

Perry Township Police Chief Mike Emigh said Tuesday dental records have confirmed Bauman's identity.

She was also the owner of the minivan police had found parked on the side of Egypt Road. The minivan is currently in police custody for evidence.

Emigh said the coroner's office handled notifying Bauman's relatives, who lived in other jurisdictions.

The cause of death has not yet been determined. Emigh said he will not release further information until the coroner's office makes a conclusive decision about the cause of death.

A patrolman on Egypt Road found Bauman's vehicle at 9:30 a.m. Monday. The body was found soon after.

Emigh, who was out of town at a homeland security event, came back to assist in the investigation. Police also utilized the Bureau of Criminal Information and Investigation, as well as the State Fire Marshal's investigator.
