GUILFORD LAKE - Mr. and Mrs. Richard Ferris celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary during their yearly family reunion at their home.
The former Carmen Maria Bonilla, Puerto Rico, became the bride of Richard Ferris on Sept. 3, 1960, at la Iglesia Presbyteriana in Arecibo, P.R.. The Rev. Mr. Luis Angel Toro performed the ceremony.
Mr. Ferris became associate pastor at Poland Presbyterian Church in 1985. He served as pastor of Struthers Presbyterian Church from 1990 until retiring in 2001. He is a member of Eastminster Prebytery and presently serves as mentor and moderator of East Palestine Presbyterian Church.

Mrs. Ferris was a social worker in Missouri and Ohio, retiring as a licensed independent social worker from the Adult Mental Health unit of Trumbull Memorial Hospital in 2001. She moderates Presbyterian Women Coordinating Team of Eastminster Presbytery, is a deacon at New Lisbon Presbyterian Church and a volunteer with Hospice of the Valley.
The couple have four sons, Arthur (Sherryl) Ferris, Cincinnati; Paul (Lisa) Ferris, Louisville; Daniel (Denise) Ferris, Alexandria, Ind.; and Randall (Shelly), Jamestown, Mo. They also have 11 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Their children presented them with an all expanse-paid trip to the Smoky Mountains, Pigeon Forge, Tenn., where they were joined there by their family at a mountain-top retreat.
