Lottie Crowl
EAST PALESTINE - Mrs. Lottie E. Crowl, 86, of 168 Hamilton Lane, passed away at 8:50 a.m. Tuesday at the St. Elizabeth Health Center, Youngstown, where she had been a patient for the past two days.
Lottie was born June 22, 1923, in East Palestine, a daughter of the late Wellington and Maud Thompson Walker, and had resided in the East Palestine area for most of her life.
She had been employed at the former Kenmar Division of Ethan Allen and had served as the first female on the staff of the United Steelworkers Union, retiring in 1983.
She was a member of the Centenary United Methodist Church.
Her husband, Harold "Howdy" Crowl, whom she married Jan. 29, 1946, preceded her in death Jan. 26, 1989. A brother, James Walker, and a sister, Velma Theiler, as well as a nephew, Jeff "Chet" Walker, had also preceded her in death.
She is survived by several nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Friday at the Oliver-Linsley Funeral Home, with the Rev. Mark McTrustry of Emmanuel United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will follow in Glenview Cemetery.
