John Fairbaugh
SALEM - John M. Fairbaugh, 89, died at 8:50 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 17, 2009, at the Sterling House.
Born May 20, 1920, in McKeesport, Pa., he was the son of the late John W. and Elizabeth (Spear) Fairbaugh.
He worked for the Pittsburgh and Lake Erie Railroad for 41 years, retiring in 1980 as a transportation superintendent.
A World War II Army veteran, he was a 1938 graduate of McKeesport High School.
He was a member of St. James Episcopal Church in Boardman and the Church of Our Saviour in Salem as well as Aliquippa F. & A.M. and Tall Cedars of Lebanon. He spent many of his retirement years in Myrtle Beach golfing.
Survivors include his daughter, Marsha L. (Frank) Delligatti of Lisbon; three grandchildren, Aimee (Rick) Dunn, Zachary Delligatti, and Stephanie Delligatti, all of Lisbon, and a great-granddaughter, Jessalyn Dunn.
His wife, the former Martha Cornman, whom he married Oct. 10, 1942, died Dec. 31, 2000.
The funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Weber Funeral Home, Lisbon, with the Rev. Fayette Grose officiating. Burial will be in Lisbon Cemetery.
Calling hours are 7 to 9 p.m. Friday and one hour prior to the service at the funeral home Saturday.
