Robert Cannon

WASHINGTONVILLE - Robert Lee Cannon, 66, formerly of Lisbon died at 3:02 PM Thursday, November 5, 2009 at the Hospice House in Poland.

Born February 5, 1943 in Lisbon, he was a son of the late John M. and Esther (Stump) Cannon.

He had worked as a production coordinator at Electric Furnace in Salem, retiring in 2002 after 32 years.

An Army veteran of Vietnam, he was a member of American Legion Post 131 in Leetonia, VFW Post 5532 in Washingtonville, F.O.E. Aerie 2216 in Lisbon, and was a life member of Amvets Post 45 in Salem.

Survivors include his son Kevin L. Cannon of Marysville, OH; a granddaughter Madelyn Grace Cannon; sisters Madge Elliott of Merced, CA, Esther Gbur and Olive Nicholson both of Lisbon; and a brother John Cannon of Waldwick, NJ.

His sister Gladys Richards and brother Gilbert are deceased.

Following his wishes, there will be no calling hours. There will be a private burial with military honors provided by the Salem Amvets and VFW in Lisbon Cemetery.

Arrangements are being handled by the Weber Funeral Home.
