Leland Raley
LISBON - Leland A. Raley, 89, of 45470 state Route 154, passed away at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at his residence.
Mr. Raley was born Aug. 28, 1920, in Salem, a son of the late Arthur and Zora Ward Raley, and was a life resident of the area.
He had owned and operated the family farm for a number of years, and had been employed with the former Franklin Furniture, Columbiana, for 20 years, retiring in 1983.
He was a member of the First Church of Christ, East Palestine.
His wife, the former Cora E. Gumbel, whom he married Aug. 9, 1940, preceded him in death on Nov. 22, 2004. A brother, Lester, had also preceded him in death.
Mr. Raley is survived by two sons, Richard L. Raley, Salem, and James A. (Debbie) Raley, New Waterford. Six grandchildren also survive, Rebekah, Sarah, Jim, Charles, Marcia and Kayla, as well as four great-grandchildren.
The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Oliver-Linsley Funeral Home, East Palestine, with Clarence Mansfield officiating. Burial will follow in Crest Haven Memorial Gardens, New Waterford.
Friends will be received from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
