Dorothy Wyss

NORTH GEORGETOWN - Dorothy Jean Wyss, 71, of North Georgetown, Ohio, passed away on Sunday, Nov. 1, 2009, at her home.

Dorothy was born in Bayard, Ohio, on Nov. 21, 1937, the daughter of Delmar Sanor and Marjo (McCullough) Sanor.

Dorothy worked as a secretary at Minerva High School and was a member of the Emmanuel Lutheran Church in North Georgetown.

Mrs. Wyss is survived by her father, Delmar Sanor of Chambersburg, Ohio; her husband, Ronald E. Wyss of North Georgetown, whom she married on Nov. 21, 1962; a daughter, Rhonda Swindell of North Georgetown; two sons, Darren Wyss of Portland, Ore., and Lance Wyss of Corvallis, Ore.; two granddaughters, Makayla Swindell of North Georgetown and Paige Wyss of Lisbon. She is also survived by a brother, Jim Sanor; a stepbrother, Clarence Antram; a half sister, Mary Prendergast, and a half brother, John Sanor, all of Chambersburg, Ohio.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Marjo, and her stepmother Geneva Sanor.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Nov.15, 2009, at Emmanuel Lutheran Church in North Georgetown with Pastor Carolyn Wagar-Hier officiating.

Friends may call at the church the hour prior to the service.
