Mary Andrus

EAST PALESTINE - Mary Louise Andrus, 71, of 274 Alice Street, passed away at 9:02 p.m. Thursday at the Salem Community Hospital, following a brief illness.

Mary Louise was born February 11, 1938 in East Palestine a daughter of the late Michael and Maria Lena Grappo DiGrappo, and was a life long resident of the community. She was a graduate of East Palestine High School. She had been employed with the former First National Bank, and later the New Waterford Bank, and eventually retired from the business office of the City of East Palestine.

She was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Church.

Her husband, Robert A. Andrus, whom she married Sept. 24, 1966, preceded her in death June 30, 1999. A brother, George, had also preceded her in death.

Mary Louise is survived by sister, Carolyn (John) Gallagher, of Palm Beach Gardens, FL; a brother, James (Donna) Grappo, of East Palestine, and several nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Monday at Our Lady of Lourdes Church, with Rev. Daniel Cipar, serving as celebrant. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery. Friends will be received at the Oliver-Linsley Funeral Home from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. today (Sunday). A vigil service will be held at the conclusion of calling hours.
