LISBON - Nearly half of the levies on the Nov. 3 ballot would raise property taxes should they pass, according to information provided by the Columbiana County Auditor's Office.

Of the 20 levies on the ballot, nine are either new levies or renewals being run as replacement levies, which, in either case, would raise property taxes.

The following is the list of levies and whether they would raise taxes:

Countywide

Children Services is seeking renewal of a 0.75-mill operating levy used to fund the foster care program. This would not raise taxes. The owner of a $100,000 home currently pays $17 per year in taxes.

The county Health Department is seeking renewal of an existing 0.2-mill cancer clinic levy but as a replacement levy, which would raise taxes by $1.45 to $6.13 a year for the owner of a $100,000 home.

Center Township

The trustees are seeking renewal of a 2-mill road levy, which would not raise taxes. The owner of $100,000 currently pays $27 in taxes.

East Liverpool School District

The board is seeking renewal of a 6.5-mill operating levy, which would not raise taxes. The owner of a $100,000 home currently pays $199 in taxes.

East Palestine

City Council is seeking approval for a new 5-mill street levy, which would raise property taxes by $153 for the owner of a $100,000 home.

City Council is seeking renewal of a 1.5-mill fire levy, which would not raise taxes. The owner of a $100,000 home currently pays $45 in taxes.

Elkrun Township

Trustees are seeking renewal of a 0.3-mill fire levy, which would not raises taxes. The owner of a $100,000 home currently pays $1.82 in taxes.

Renewal also is being sought of a 1.5-mill road levy, which would not raise taxes. The owner of a $100,000 home currently pays $33 in taxes.

Franklin Township

The trustees are seeking renewal of a 3-mill fire levy but as a replacement levy, which would raises taxes by $8.87 to $91 per year for the owner of a $100,000 home.

Hanover Township

Trustees are seeking renewal of a 1.1-mill road levy but as a replacement levy, which would raise taxes by $2.76 to $33 for the owner of a $100,000 home.

Renewal also is being sought of a 1.1-mill fire levy but as a replacement levy, which would raise taxes by $2.76 to $33 for the owner of a $100,000 home.

Knox Township

Trustees are seeking passage of a new 1.5-mill fire levy in the North Georgetown Fire District, which would raise taxes by $45 for the owner of a $100,000 home.

Trustees also are seeking passage of a new 1.5-mill fire levy in the Homeworth Fire District, which would raise taxes by $45 for the owner of a $100,000 home.

Leetonia School District

The school board is seeking passage of a new 8.8-mill operating levy, which would raise taxes by $269 a year for the owner of a $100,000 home.

Madison Township

Trustees are seeking renewal of a 2-mill road levy, which would not raise taxes. The owner of a $100,000 home currently pays $17 in taxes.

Southern Local School District

The board is seeking renewal of 7.8-mill operating levy, which would not raise taxes. The owner of a $100,000 home currently pays $184 in taxes.

Summitville

The village is seeking renewal of a 1-mill fire levy, which would not raise taxes. The owner of a $100,000 home currently pays $26 in taxes.

Unity Township

Trustees are seeking renewal of a 1-mill fire levy, which would not raise taxes. The owner of a $100,000 home currently pays $15 in taxes.

Washington Township

Trustees are seeking renewal of a 3-mill fire levy, which would not raises taxes. The owner of a $100,000 home currently pays $84 in taxes.

West Township

Trustees are seeking passage of a new 3-mill road levy, which would cost the owner of a $100,000 home $91 in taxes.
