Steven Hirt

POLAND - Steven K. Hirt, 62, of 7538 N. Lima Road, Poland, Ohio passed away on Thursday, October 1, 2009 at his home from complications of cancer. Mr. Hirt was born on October 28, 1946 in East Palestine, Ohio the son of Ed and Edna (Leisure) Hirt.

Steven retired from S.B.C. after working there for 30 years. He was a Vietnam Army Veteran. Mr. Hirt was an avid golfer and fisherman.

Steven was preceded in death on September 6, 1993 by his first wife Kathy S. Hirt, whom he married on March 10, 1968. Mr. Hirt is survived by two sons, Brandon Hirt of Louisiana and Lance Hirt of New Waterford, Ohio; one brother, Sam (Melanie) Hirt of Nashville, Tennessee; one grandchild, Sydney Hirt of Alexandria, Virginia and by his companion of five years, Terrie Price. Mr. Hirt was preceded in death by his sister Barbara Curl in 1983.

A Memorial Service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, October 10, 2009 at the Columbiana Cemetery Chapel with Joe Congemi officiating.
