LISBON - Mr. and Mrs. Delmar Calkins will celebrate 50 years of marriage with an open house hosted by their children and grandchildren from 1-4 p.m. Sept. 13 at the Hanoverton Ruritan Hall, Second Street.
The former Carol Erb, daughter of Oscar and Carolyn Erb, became the bride of Delmar Calkins, son of George and Myrtle Calkins, Sept. 11, 1959 at the East Rochester parsonage. The ceremony was officiated by Rev. Dwight Gamble.
Mr. Calkins, an over-the-road trucker, retired from the business after 35 years and became employed as a security guard for American Standard in Salem, retiring after eight years.

Mrs. Calkins is a homemaker and an active member of the First Christian Church of Kensington.
The couple has two children, Belinda Niswonger, and Mrs. Randall (Carolyn) Mattevi, all of Lisbon, four grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
The couple has requested that gifts be omitted.
