SALINEVILLE - Harold "Shorty" Brown, 72, of Salineville Road died early Tuesday morning at his home.
He was born Sept. 8, 1936, in Salineville, a son of the late Daniel and Martha Madison Brown.
Harold lived all his life in the Salineville area and was a veteran of the U.S. Marines.
He was employed for 25 years at TRW, leaving there in 1987.
He was a member of Riley's Church, and a former member of the American Legion John Adams Post 442 in Salineville.
Harold was a very private man who loved his family.
He will be sadly missed by his wife, Nancy Erwin Brown whom he married in 1960; one son, Harold (Jim) Brown and Christy of Millport; two daughters, Julie Brown of Guilford Lake and Lorrie Ketchum of Salineville; three sisters, Ona Brothers of Salineville, Bernice Lewis of Salineville, Darla Lingo of Alabama; seven grandchildren, Bethany Shelton of Salineville, Paul Talbott III of West Point, Joshua Brown of West Point, Jacob Brown of Millport, Ciara Farish of Wellsville, Sonny Ketchum and Frankie Ketchum, both of Salineville; and six great-grandchildren.
Harold was preceded in death by two sisters, Sarah Fanelli and Doris Brown, and two brothers, Dean Brown and Carl Brown.
No calling hours or funeral will be observed.
In lieu of flowers the family is requesting contributions be made to the Hospice of the Valley Columbiana or Riley's Church.
