LISBON - Barbara and Albert Houp, Lisbon, and Daniel and Gail Thompson, Salineville, are announcing the engagement and forthcoming marriage of their daughter, Velvet Marie Thompson to Kenneth Leroy Bratt Jr., son of Kenneth and Velman Bratt Sr., Rogers.

The bride-elect is a graduate of Beaver Local High School and earned an associate's degree from ETI College. She has worked in women's care for six years.

Her fiance is also a graduate of Beaver Local High School and the Columbiana County Career Center. He has been employed as an electrician with Quality Electric, Sandusky, for 13 years.

The couple is planning a Sept. 12 wedding at the Rogers Assembly of God.
