Kenneth Frontz, 89, formerly of Wellsville, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, July 22, 2009, at the Assisted Living Ministry Services facility, where he had been a resident for the past two years. He was born July 5, 1920, in Wellsville, a son of the late Harry L. and Elizabeth A. (Molyneaux) Frontz. Kenneth was a veteran of the United States Navy and Marine Corps during World War II and retired in 1982 as a craneman at the former Crucible Steel Mill, where he worked for 34 years. He was an 80-year member of the First Christian Church of Wellsville, where he served as a deacon for over 50 years. He was a 32nd degree Mason and was active in the Eastern Star, Order of the Scottish Rite and White Shrine of Jerusalem. Kenneth was also a member of the Triangular Senior Citizens Club of Calcutta. He was preceded in death on Nov. 19, 1996, by his wife, Catherine (Webster) Frontz, whom he married Aug. 10, 1941, and a granddaughter, Julie Ann VanDyne. Survivors include two daughters, Elizabeth Saylor of Willoughby, Ohio, and Karen Anderson and her husband, Don, of Carrollton; one sister, Alice Weldon of East Liverpool; one brother, Robert L. Frontz of Sebring; three grandchildren, Lisa VanDyne of Willoughby, Jennifer Ackelson and her husband, Allen, of Woodbridge, Va., and Kathi Anderson and her companion, Robert Dorward, of Palmerton, Pa., and five great-grandchildren, Ashley and Britney Ackelson, Lindsay Macey, and Reiley and Makenzie Dorward. A very special friend, Ruth Ann Kennedy, of Calcutta, also survives. Funeral services will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Monday, July 27, 2009, at the First Christian Church of Wellsville, 831 Main St., with Pastor Troy Warner officiating. Burial will follow in Spring Hill Cemetery, where military honors will be accorded by the Salineville American Legion, John Adams Post 442, Burial Group. Friends may call from 2-4 and 6-8 pm on Sunday at the Roberts Funeral Home, 631 Main St., Wellsville, where a Masonic service will be held at 7 pm.
