Charles Jones

LISBON - Charles Jones, "Mr. Charlie," formerly of Pittsburgh, Pa., who resided in Lisbon, Ohio, passed away peacefully on June 30, 2009, with family and caregivers by his side.

He was born Dec. 10, 1914.

Mr. Charlie and his wife, Louise, did foster care for many years.

He was with Pathways for Children for over 18 years. Also, he worked at the Tobin Center. He was a self-employed roofer and worked on the railroad in his younger years.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Louise.

He leaves his children: sons, Rederrio Jones at home, Steven Vandiber, Dan Corbitt and Andrew Wilson; daughters, Phoebe Garry, Joyce Taylor and Maybelle Bullard; 19 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren and longtime caregivers Ella Shasteen, Linsey Good and Diana Good.

A wake will be held from 4-8 p.m. Monday, July 6, at White Lily Baptist Church in Pennsylvania.

Services will be at 11 a.m. on Tuesday. Burial will be in Union Dale Cemetery in Pittsburgh.

McDermott Funeral Home handled the arrangements.
