LISBON - Mr. and Mrs. Jim Ewing celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary June 14 with a family dinner party at the New Alexander Christian Church. The party was hosted by their children.
The former Doris Mae Hayman married James Ewing June 12, 1949 at the Minerva Methodist Church in a ceremony performed by the Rev. Lonzo Green.
Mr. Ewing farmed for 30 years before becoming a multi-county technician for the Soil Conservation Service. He retired from the service after 27 years. He also played fiddle in the Ed Huffman Band for 50 years.

Mrs. Ewing worked as a surgical nurses aid at Salem Community Hospital and with home healthcare, caring for the elderly.
They are members of the New Lebanon Presbyterian Church, where they have served as elders and youth leaders.
The couple have four sons, Jim (Maryann) Ewing, Lebanon, Ore.; Curt (Jodi) Ewing, Homeworth; Brian (Kay) Ewing, Oak Harbor; and Tracy (Carol) Ewing, Salem; 10 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
