COLUMBIANA - Robert G. Bell, 83, of 238 Park Place, Columbiana, Ohio, passed away at 5:31 a.m. on Tuesday, June 23, 2009 at Salem Community Hospital. Robert was born November 18, 1925 in Columbiana, Ohio, the youngest of 13 children of the late Andrew and Mary Bell.

Mr. Bell worked at Ethan Allen in East Palestine for many years until his retirement in 1988, and owned and operated his own furniture manufacturing business. Robert also served in W.W. II in the U.S. Navy as a Pharmacist Mate.

Mr. Bell is survived by his wife, Virginia (Chalky) Bell; two step-daughters, Bonnie Gustafson of Columbiana, Ohio and Cathy (Wayne) Dickey of New Waterford, Ohio; one step-son, William (Roberta) Chalky of Boardman, Ohio; three grandchildren, Jeff (Doreen) Gustafson of Columbiana, Holly (Craig) Downing of Leetonia, Ohio and Tammy Sweat of Struthers, Ohio; eight great-grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, June 26, 2009 at the Seederly-Mong & Beck Funeral Home in Columbiana with Rev. Charles A. Ready officiating. Burial will be Columbiana Cemetery. Calling hours will be from 1-3 p.m. on Friday, June 26, 2009 prior to the funeral at Seederly-Mong & Beck Funeral Home in Columbiana.

The family suggests that material contributions be made to the American Diabetes Association or the American Heart Association.
