EAST LIVERPOOL Carey Ann Kraft Thomas, 35, of Coolidge Avenue died Sunday morning, June 14, 2009, at the Cancer Treatment Center of America in Zion, Ill., following a 10-month illness.
Born July 7, 1973, in East Liverpool, a daughter of the late Paula Jean Herron Kraft, who died Dec. 6, 2005, and Frank Edward Kraft of East Liverpool, she was a lifetime area resident.
A member of Beechwood Free Methodist Church, she was a homemaker and a mother and previously managed Shoebilee in Calcutta.
A 1991 graduate of Beaver Local High School, she also graduated from the Columbiana County Career and Technical Center. She was active as a volunteer with Calcutta Elementary School and its Mothers' Club.
In addition to her father, she is survived by her husband, Ronald D. Thomas, Jr., of Calcutta.
Also surviving at home is a daughter, Lauren Ashley Thomas, and a son, Logan Douglas Thomas.
Surviving are two sisters, Marla Renee Hughes and her husband, Huck, of Calcutta, and Jamie Lynn Severs and her husband, Rick, of Negley.
Nieces surviving are Kaylyn Hughes, Hannah Hughes, Kylie Severs, Caitlin Thomas, Kelsey Joy and Susan Joy. A nephew surviving is Brenden Severs.
The Rev. Norm Eckert of the church is to conduct services at 11 a.m. Friday at the Dawson Funeral Home, where friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday. Burial is to be at Columbiana County Memorial Park, after which a gathering will be held at the Dawson Family Center.
