LISBON - Glendon and Esther Dowd, Rose Drive, will celebrate 40 years of marriage Saturday with a private celebration thrown by their children.
The former Esther King, daughter of the late Murray and Velma King, married Glendon Dowd, son of the late Joseph and Gladys Dowd, on March 21, 1969 in a ceremony performed at the Dowd home. Rev. Allen Foster performed the ceremony.
Mr. Dowd is retired from Banner Industries. Mrs. Dowd is a homemaker.

The couple are members of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses in Lisbon.
They have seven children, Terry (Maryann) Dowd, Tammy Fisher, Glendon (Maxie) Dowd, Rueben (Melissa) Dowd, and James Dowd, all of Lisbon; John (Sharon) Dowd, East Palestine; and the late Patricia Moffett; 12 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
