Haley Lynn Duko marries Adam J. Shaffer

LEETONIA - Haley Lynn Duko and Adam Joseph Shaffer were united in marriage Dec. 27 at Saint Patrick's Church in Leetonia. Father Thomas Eiswerth officiated the 2 p.m. ceremony.

The bride is the daughter of Lawrence and Marcia Duko, Leetonia.

The groom is the son of Bruce and Michele Shaffer, Minerva.

Escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents, the bride wore a strapless duchess silk couture ball gown, with an ivory lace over lay and hand beaded accents throughout. A fitted bodice followed with a French hem lace perimeter and train. Complimenting the bride's gown was a cathedral length veil and a hand-tied bouquet of red roses.

Brianna Duko, Columbus, served her sister as maid of honor in a red gown with a black sash.

In red gowns were bridesmaids LeeAnne Guido, Pittsburgh, Pa.; and Jaclyn Leffel, Leetonia; both cousins of the bride, Arryn Slutz, East Canton; sister-in-law of the bride, Kylie Giesken and Tara Johnston, both of Cincinnati.

Flower girls were Landry Baker, cousin of the bride and Addie Slutz, niece of the groom.

Scott Cassidy, Louisville, performed duties of the best man. Groomsmen were Andrew Shaffer, Canton, brother of groom, Drew Manley, Lexington, Dustin Weida, Cincinnati; and Chris Harris, Fort Thomas.

Ring bearers were Roman Ferry, Leetonia and Ryan Cassidy.

A reception, attended by approximately 250 guests, was held at Avion on the Water in Canfield.

Following a honeymoon trip to Cancun, Mexico, the couple reside in Cincinnati.

The bride is a graduate of Leetonia High School and The University of Cincinnati where she earned degrees in middle childhood education and administration. She is currently employed as a middle school teacher at Pleasant Run Middle School.

The groom is a graduate of Minerva High School and Northern Kentucky University where he received a degree in sports management. He is currently working for the Cincinnati Reds and Major League Baseball Advanced Media.
