Liverpool resident is sought in Chester stabbingJanuary 8, 2009 - By JO ANN BOBBY GILBERTJournal Staff WriterCHESTER, W.Va. - A man last known to reside in East Liverpool has been charged in connection to a New Year's Day stabbings of two men at Chuggers Night Club on U.S. Route 30. Hancock County Sheriff's Department Chief Todd Murray confirmed Thursday that a warrant for malicious wounding has been issued for Deonte Maurice Howard, 20, whose last known address was Pennsylvania Avenue in East Liverpool. According to Murray, Howard, also known as "Snake," is accused of stabbing Eric Robert Wilson, 21, East Liverpool, and David Peachey, 25, Wellsville, during an incident at the club, although he declined to give details of what actually happened due to the ongoing investigation. Deputies were called to the nightclub for a large fight about 2:30 a.m. Jan. 1 and reportedly found about 100 patrons running in all directions. Wilson and Peachey were treated at area hospitals for stab wounds but have since been released, Murray said Thursday. Murray said he believed Howard is out on bond from a stabbing incident in July at an East End bar in East Liverpool. According to East Liverpool Municipal Court and county court records, Howard was indicted in July for felonious assault with a jury trial set for April 14 in Columbiana County Common Pleas Court. He reportedly is out on $50,000 recognizance bond, according to court records. Murray asked that anyone knowing the whereabouts of Howard or with any information pertaining to the stabbing incident at Chuggers call the sheriff's department at 304-387-4100. |
