Hot Rods, fans crowd downtown Salem

June 21, 2008
Morning Journal News
With enough chrome and super high-gloss paint to pave a parking lot...they did. The municipal parking lot on East Pershing Street was loaded with street cruisers and custom rods Friday night as the third annual Steel Valley Super Nationals thundered into Salem for the Expert Tire After Party. This shot shows nothing but hot, shiny iron and people enjoying the spectacle. Most parking lots in downtown were full with hundreds of cars and thousands of people and East and West State Street were packed with cruising cars. More are expected today as the spectacle of hot colorful cars and chrome continues and peaks tonight. (Salem News photo by Larry Shields)
