Salem's Brobeck fourth at Midwest Meet of Champions

JACKSON, Mich. — Salem High School graduate Sarah Brobeck had the best throw in Ohio a week late.
Brobeck was fourth in the girls discus at the Midwest Meet of Champions Saturday with a toss of 137-feet-7.
The toss was the best among Ohioans a week after Brobeck placed third in the Division II state meet.
Division II state champion KaiCee Kubicina of Newton Falls was fifth (137-1) and Amy Evans of Urbana, who was fourth at state, placed ninth Saturday (118-1).
The meet included the top senior track and field athletes from Ohio, Michigan and Indiana.
Indiana’s Monteka Flowers won the discus (147-0), followed by Michigan’s duo of Tia Brooks (146-3) and Jamie Smith (137-8).
Audra Frimong of Canfield was second in the long jump (18-3 1/2) and eighth in the 100-meter hurdles (17.81).
